The first few steps...

My journey has begun with My Wine Canada. First few days, I virtually met with my direct supervisor, Erin, and her manager, Tiffany. They gave myself, and another intern a rundown of their plan for us and step by step directions on what they do for each aspect of their digital marketing operations.

My Wine Canada has two sets of social media. First one is the My Wine Canada accounts and the second is My Wine Club accounts. Both have their own Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. My First project is to manage the My Wine Club accounts and create content while following their preset guidelines monthly. My Wine Club is essentially for the subscription product we offer, every month you will have bottles from the featured winery delivered to you. With the use of social pilot, I did some analytics and research on what they have been doing and what some competitors do. After some though, I shared my idea with Erin and I proceeded to writing and making creatives. Aligned with their goal of increasing reach and followers, which will in turn become customers. Essentially, I proposed the following:

1st Week - Intro the winery. What is in the wine packages. Why would you want it.

2nd Week - Similar to 1st week but on more benefits of the subscription.

3rd Week - Customers generally recieve the wine this week so provide food pairings/cocktail recipes.

Last Week - Fun notes/Ideas/Engagement related to wine. Sneak peek of next month's winery.

Another responsibility is via Mailchimp, a "special deal" newsletters and images to be completed every week. At first, this was split between myself and another intern but now it fell onto me because of some unpredictable circumstances. However, I've had a career in hospitality, unpredictable events happen hourly! I proceeded to clarify the expectations of the newsletters. Provided with templates and guidelines I was able to pick this up quickly. I am in the process of analyzing the activities of the newsletter now to see what can be changed to increase call-to-actions.

Although my communication with Erin is generally via email, she has been very constructive and detailed with her feedback notes on my work. Tiffany as well has been really helpful, both of them have made be realize certain aspects I should pay more attention too with creatives.

Luckily there is still more time. The process feels slow but the results will show.
